School-Wide Behavior Plan

In order to guarantee all students in our school the excellent learning climate they deserve, we use the following discipline plan:

We believe all students can behave appropriately at school. Our C.H.A.M.P.S. plan outlines behavior expectations.  Consequences are in place for appropriate and inappropriate behavior.

C.H.A.M.P.S.

                                                     Classroom expectations are met

                                           Homework is turned in daily

                                           Accepts responsibilitiy

                                           Mealtime behavior is appropriate

                                           Playground behavior is appropriate

                                           Shows respect to others

Individuals who follow the rules, show respect, manners, and positive character traits earn money to spend during a trip to the Dollar Tree at the end of each nine weeks.  Students also earn money through class rewards, weekly attendance, and daily homework completion.

A consequence program is also part of our classroom plan. This helps us determine if behaviors follow a pattern, and helps to hold students accountable for their individual behaviors. Students move down the chart based upon not meeting the expectations outlined in C.H.A.M.P.S.  In addition, students have the ability to move up the chart if their behavior improves during a class.  This plan is as follows:

                                                 5 - Awesome
                                       4 - Verbal Warning
                                       3 - Name in Book
                                       2 - Process Sheet
                                       1 - Laps at Recess
0 - Lunch Detention or No Free Time at Recess
                                       0 - Go to Administrator

The consequences start over daily and are tracked daily in students' agendas.  This allows parents to be informed of their child's behavior daily.
