Individualized Student Plans

Individualized Student Plans are the means by which we monitor the progress of a student’s academic, social and behavioral growth. Each student has individual goals and objectives for each subject written by the teachers for that particular student.  These goals are an approximation of what the school feels the child can master by the end of the year.  It is reviewed at each parent teacher conference, and is a collaborative effort on the part of the parents, the teachers, and even the student if it is appropriate.

Progress is based on:

  • Objective classroom assessment.
  • Annual academic achievement testing.
  • Available psycho-educational evaluations.
  • Faculty observations.

If a student shows qualifying gaps in achievement or growth, we work with them to rewrite and implement carefully determined goals to promote closure of these gaps. Each plan is updated each semester throughout a student’s career at The Marshall School.
